How I Got Here
My path to obtaining my degree was unconventional and filled with a slight detour. After my sophomore year, I had the
opportunity to serve in both Syria and Iraq, which meant taking a year and a half hiatus from my studies. This period
was challenging, yet it gave me a deeper appreciation for my educational pursuits.
While in school, I also continued my role as a drilling member of GSB 20th Special Forces Group, serving as an 11B.
Balancing this commitment with my academic goals was not easy, but it taught me the value of discipline and time
management. I was fortunate to keep my studies on track, steadily working towards graduation.
While at university, I took on the role of a student database analyst. Utilizing Oracle's SQL Developer, I handled a
significant amount of data, managing the records of thousands of prospective students. This responsibility involved
regular maintenance and migration of records, a task I approached with a focus on detail and accuracy.
As I neared the completion of my degree, I was presented with an internship opportunity in web development. This
experience allowed me to explore new technologies and contribute to creating user-friendly digital experiences. It was a
learning journey that complemented my academic studies and offered a glimpse into the practical applications of
technology.
